PÉREZ ART MUSEUM MIAMI INTERSHIP
I am currently working an intership at the flagship museum of Miami-Dade county, the Perez Art Museum of Miami (PAMM), under the PAMM Teen Arts Council (PTAC)

CARRYING OUT THE MUSEUM'S MISSION
At the Pérez Art Museum Miami, I work with thirteen other teens at PAMM's Teen Art Council (PTAC). We are a close-knit group. We work together diligently, collaborating to support and carry out the museum's encompassing mission of accessibility, dialogue, and community engagement. Through this once-in-a-lifetime experience, we, as PTAC learn how museums function, not just as institutions, but as communities. It's a beautiful interconnected network, rooted in trust, shared responsibility, and an unwavering commitment to connecting to people through art.
In this council, I learn the importance of community and collaboration. Also, it is where I discovered my passion for the arts, and my desire to be apart of creative projects.
INTERVIEWING
As part of the Pérez Art Museum Miami Teen Council, I conduct interviews and formulate thoughtful, research-driven questions to be preserved within the museum's archive. This work focuses on amplifying the voices of emerging, underrepresented artists, ensuring their perspectives are documented. For me, interviews underscore the importance of representation and honoring artists' intent and cultural context.
Together we've interviewed:

EXPLORING CAREERS
Through PTAC, I explore a wide range of careers that sustain a major cultural institution, from education and curation to operations and executive leadership. As a council, we engage directly with museum professionals including the museum's senior leadership, such as the COO and CEO. These interactions provide invaluable insight into how mission-driven organizations function at both creative and operational levels. These conversations emphasize the collaborative systems behind the museum's public presence and deepen my understanding of leadership, decision making and institutional responsibility.
TOURING
I also lead museum tours and develop inquiry-based questions designed to guide visitors through thoughtful engagement with contemporary art. When touring, I apply strategies to enhance storytelling, pacing, and audience connection, adapting each tour to encourage dialogue rather than passive viewing. This role has strengthened my public speaking skills and confidence, as it requires me to communicate complex ideas clearly. Through guiding people through the museum, I have learned how education, curiosity, and conversation shape meaningful museum experiences.
